If you're considering visiting or moving to Costa Rica, specifically Grecia, a.k.a., Central Valley, then I invite you to contact Randall Perez.
Myself and my family were introduced to Randall by other expats in the Grecia/Central Valley community. Since knowing Randall, he has been more like a friend to my family as opposed to a driver we've hired.
No matter your travel destination, Randall will be there to assist you as a trusted guide and friend. Randall is very prompt, friendly and engaging. When you're with him, he gives off a sense of security that is unmistakably present.
Although rare, if Randall is not available to take you to your preferred destination, he will send someone from his trusted circle of friends in his place. For those that are sent in his place, you will also feel a sense of security with them, as having Randall's name attached, will bring on a sense of comfort.
To go a step further -
When my family and I first moved to Grecia we were high up at the very top of a ridge surrounded by great seclusion. The closest hospital was at least an hour away. One night during very late hours, my then eleven year old son, let out a scream that I had never heard before. When I finally made it to my sons bedroom, what I found was that my son could not move his body without being in excruciating pain. Immediately I began to panic, as I had never seen my son in such a way. My son typically never shows emotion and rarely ever adheres to pain. Because of this, I knew something was terribly wrong. As I scrambled to find my phone so that I could call for help, a thought to call Randall came to be, and so, I did. Within less than fifteen minutes Randall had someone to pick us up at our front door, and had already arranged for a medical professional to meet us at the bottom of the ridge in downtown Grecia, since the nearest hospital was too far.
Upon our arrival at the place where the medical professional was to meet us; what we learned, is that Randall had called his medical physician friend, to get out of bed, so that he could meet us at his practice in town. My family and I were blown away by this act of kindness and humanity. At this time, no one in my family could speak fluent Spanish, but as fate would have it, we wouldn't have to. When we walked into the medical clinic we heard a familiar voice, it was Randall. Although he wasn't physically there, he was on the other end of the phone speaking to the physician as he awaited our arrival.
Randall stayed on the phone with my family and I for the entire duration of our office visit. He operated as a translator for both my family, as well as the physician. The driver that Randall sent also stayed with my family and I throughout the entire process. I was so humbly grateful by the level of humanity that was being received. It almost felt unreal.
When all was said and done - and we arrived back at our front door - I pulled out my wallet to pay the driver that Randall had sent, but he would not accept payment at that time. He insisted that I pay him later when my affairs were in order regarding my son and his health. At that very moment I became emotionally overwhelmed as I opened my arms to wrap them around this young man. At that very moment, I was experiencing a level of humanity that I had never experienced before.
Following the days to come, Randall checked in on my son for at least a week. It was a sincere checking, as you could hear the sincerity in his voice each time he would call.
The aforementioned is only one example of the kindness and overall humanity given from this amazing human being. Even though we no longer live in Central Valley, we still think of Randall to this day, as the warmness of his heart, still permeates ours.
